Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and the rest of the Wildcats are back for the third installment of their insanely popular Disney TV movie. This time however, the producers are keen on cashing on these kids’ media exposure and popularity. So as a conclusion to the trilogy, they have decided to make us pay to see the movie.
The film takes full grasp of the hype but takes the story for granted. The film feels like a mash-up of production numbers. What goes in between those musical numbers is a lull. Being used to big production musicals, “HSM 3” seemed like… uhmmm… a high school musical. It is badly done. The choreography is lousy. It is mawkishly sentimental. The brats can dance and sing, no doubt about that, but the acting, heaven forbid that they be called actors.
“HSM 3” is right on its target demographic, but it fails to entertain anyone who does not belong to that market.
